We were not born yesterday :-) iMasterArabic was founded in 2003. So it’s quite old now unlike other online platforms.
- Proven method: we have more than 20 years experience teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and have developed our own methods and programs.
- Our teachers are personally selected by us, and tutors for adult lessons are trained in our method. We regularly give them extra training and tools for teaching. They are passionate about teaching their language.
- We care about our students’ progress and make it our mission to have them enjoy their lessons and love the language and culture they are learning.
- Follow-up: we follow up on the student’s progress and give level assessment tests after completing each level.
- Our materials are official: we have published 6 books in different languages for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
As an absolute beginner, we recommend starting with the Beginner’s Bundle and studying the following books together: Learn Lebanese Arabic for Beginners (t3allam lebnene), Master Arabic Reading and Writing for Beginners. Then you can move on to book iMasterArabic Level A1.
Good question! It depends on your goals, why do you want to learn Arabic?
- If it’s only to be able to read and understand (the Quran or any Modern Standard Arabic text), then it’s better to learn classical Arabic. We suggest private or Duo lessons with an MSA tutor.
- If your partner is from the Levant area (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, North Jordan) and you would like to speak and understand his/her family members and travel to his/her country, then we suggest one of our group courses.
- If group courses are not for you because you have a very irregular schedule, then you can take private lessons in Levantine Arabic. Find a private tutor here.
- If your partner is from outside the Levant area, then we suggest private lessons. Find the best teacher for you and book directly a free trial lesson. Browse private tutors
- If your goal is to learn Arabic for your work, then contact us and we will advise you on the best program. WhatsApp: +961 3 403709. DM Instagram: @imasterarabic.
We have a number of teachers on our platform who specialize in teaching children online and provide children's lessons in reading, writing, speaking Lebanese Arabic or Egyptian Arabic, and speaking Modern Standard Arabic. You can start with a free trial on our private lessons page. Go to imasterarabic.com/private-lessons, and filter on ‘Children's lessons’.
We suggest a child start learning how to read and write as of 5 years old.
Before that, we strongly recommend that you speak to your child in your native dialect. Even if they answer you in a different language, stay consistent and speak to them in Arabic.
We offer courses for all levels:
- Absolute Beginners: you don’t know the Arabic alphabet, and you cannot speak at all.
- Beginner (A1): you can read words written in Arabic, and have very basic speaking skills.
- Intermediate (A2): you have completed level A1 or its equivalent.
- Advanced (B1 and B2): you have successfully completed level A2 or its equivalent.
Whether you're starting from scratch or aiming to refine your skills, we have a program tailored for you.
We offer both!
- Group Courses: Ideal for interactive and collaborative learning. Learn more about group courses.
- Private Lessons: Perfect for a personalized 1-on-1 or Duo experience. Learn more about our 1-on-1 Lessons and Duo Lessons.
Lebanese Arabic is our specialty. It’s the dialect our method, books and courses are built around, and every Group Course and Children's Lesson is in Lebanese.
If you need a different dialect, we also offer private lessons in Egyptian, Syrian, Palestinian and Jordanian Arabic with native tutors. And whichever dialect you speak, you can learn to read and write Modern Standard Arabic with us, the way native speakers do.
Course durations vary depending on the program. They typically range from 16 to 18 weeks. Duration depends on the level and the number of weekly hours.
A private lesson lasts 60 minutes.
It actually depends on YOU:
- What is your current level?
- What level do you want to reach?
- How many days per week are you available to take a lesson?
- How much effort do you put into your homework?
- How much do you immerse yourself in the new language: listen to songs, watch programs, practice with others, travel to a country where this language is spoken?
Typically, to go up by one level you need at least 20 hours of private lessons.
We provide a free placement test to assess your level and recommend the most suitable course. If needed, you can also schedule an additional online assessment with our experts. Take the placement test here.

Great question! We've written a comprehensive blog post answering this in detail: how long does it take to learn Arabic.
You have 3 options:
- Purchase our recorded course: Finally Speak Lebanese, to practice the basics of Lebanese Arabic conversation. Once you finish it, you can enroll in course iMasterArabic Level A1.1.
- Purchase Learn Lebanese for Beginners, study it independently, and then enroll in the iMasterArabic Level A1.1 course.
- If self-study isn't an option for you, we recommend starting with the Beginner Course to develop your speaking skills.
GROUP COURSES: if you miss a lesson, it’s not a disaster. However we strongly advise you to:
- Let your instructor know that you won’t be attending.
- Check your email the next day: after each Group Course session, the teacher sends an email to all the participants in the course. In the email, there will be a recording of the session and the homework for next time.
- Make sure you watch the recording and do the homework before the next session.
PRIVATE LESSONS:
- No show: if you just don’t show up to a class (no show), then you lose this class and cannot make up for it later.
- Cancel before 24 hours prior to class: no problem, you can cancel with your teacher and re-schedule.
- Cancel within 24 hours of the lesson: the lesson is charged in full. In exceptional circumstances (a death in the family, a medical emergency, an accident), contact us and we may reschedule at no charge.
You can still enrol for the course if:
- During your holidays you have time to follow the classes and there is a good wifi connection in that country/region. You can then either follow live, or watch the recording of the session later.
- You have time to do homework in addition to attending the class live or watching the recording.
Don’t enrol if:
- During your holidays you don’t want to study and attend online classes.
- You have time to watch the recordings but not do the homework.
Yes, for group courses, payment can be made in two installments. Once the first installment is paid, your spot is reserved exclusively for you. However, as outlined in our terms and conditions, the second installment must be paid even if you decide to discontinue the course.
For private lessons, payment in installments is not available due to the package structure. After the free trial, full payment is required.
We have the right course for you! Visit our Recorded Courses page and get a full recorded course with actual conversation exercises with our Master teacher: Nayla Chebli. (Coming soon)
